Congratulations to Varsity CV Tennis for taking 3rd overall at regions this year!

Our varsity Singles did well in their matches. First singles, Andrea Bezzant placed 4th at region. Second doubles, Violeta Gonzalez Ansaldo placed 6th at region. Lastly, 3rd singles, Kennedy Rigby came back with a bronze medal after placing 3rd at region!

While singles did amazing, our doubles teams killed it! 2nd doubles, Kayleah Madsen and Hallie Carter caused quite the up stir at region, when they won the championship. When they went to region they started in the 5th seat, but after beating Carbon, Richfield, finally and Grand they took 1st place. Zach Hathaway, Canyon Views tennis coach, compared them to a dark horse, because they exceeded all expectations.

On the other hand, our first doubles, Aliyah Hathaway and Amy Lee, lived up to all expectations, starting in the 1st seat and finishing in 1st. However, this doesn't mean they had it easy. Their last match had me on the edge of my seat as they battled it out over a tie breaker winning it at 12-10 after Amy delivered the winning blow at the net.

I am so proud of the CVHS girl's tennis team and wish them luck on their play-in matches on Saturday!
