Riddle me this: Why didn’t the skeleton go to Sadie’s?...because he had no BODY to go with! Thankfully we don’t have too many skeleton students here at Canyon View, so everyone has at least one body to go with. With that said most students had two bodies to go with to this spooktacular dance that the FCCLA club so generously put together.
Sadie’s hasn’t been the only spooktacular thing going on at Canyon View though. Last Tuesday the Cross Country team went to state, and they did phenomenal! The girls team, including Jane Brown, Ashlyn Dustin, Lydia Forsyth, Kate Jessen, Emma Rigby, Lara Sorensen, and Macey Sorensen, took 3rd place at state! In addition, the boys team, including Nathaniel Callison, Thomas Daniels, Logan Hadley, Ty Jessen, Kyle Ransom, Pyson Slade, and Bret Sorensen, took 2nd place at state! I would also like to shout out Lydia Forsyth for medaling in 4th place and Thomas Daniels for medaling in 10th place. Congratulations! In addition, shout out to our Girls’ Volleyball team who finished 8th this past week in the state playoffs at UVU, and to our football team who beat Richfield Friday night. The Falcons now advance to the semifinals against Juab this Saturday at 10 AM at SUU. This the school’s most successful season and their first appearance ever at the semifinals in State competition.

With fall sports coming to a close several of our senior athletes have been awarded UHSAA Academic All-State. This award is given to students who have excelled in the classroom as well as in athletic competition. This year's fall honorees consist of Addison Beckstrand, Rylee Huey, Kayleah Madsen (me), and Kyle Nichols. I personally know all these people well, and I can tell you that these students are truly some of the falcon’s finest.
The arts have been working away as well. Last week Mr. Zeller conducted a Halloween themed orchestra and band concert. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend but from what I hear it was quite the monster mash! Our choir is also working hard putting together their Christmas concert. Furthermore, our fall production of Tuck Everlasting is coming up quickly; opening night is November 17th, and I highly urge you to get tickets because it’s going to be great!
Truthfully, the students here at Canyon View never cease to send shivers down my spine, we truly have had a spooktacular Halloween and I hope the rest of you did too!
