Most people know that Saint Patrick’s Day is an Irish holiday. In Ireland, Saint Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday, but people all over the world celebrate it. Saint Patrick's Day is on March 17. This fun day is full of the most fun tradition. Almost everyone wears green and the people that don't, regret it because they will get pinched! Children all over the world try to catch leprechauns and leprechauns always find ways to cause mischief.
Lots a traditional food are enjoyed on Saint Patrick's Day like, Cornbeef and Cabbage, Irish-soda Bread, Colcannon, Shepherd’s Pie, Irish stew. These fun and yummy food and make anyone enjoy a fun day.
The history of Saint Patrick’s Day dates back to the 17th century. It commemorates a man named Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick was a Christian who taught all people about Jesus. They called him a missionary. While this celebration started as a religious holiday, over time it turned into a celebration of Irish people and their culture. People have parties, go to festivals, and march in green filled parades.
Though Saint Patrick’s day is fun, we should always remember where the traditions and holiday came from. Remember to wear green or you might get pinched.
While this holiday might have started in Ireland, it’s celebrated in lots of countries around the world! With American being one of the most prominent supporters of this holiday.
