The student organizations here at Canyon View are like none other. Not only do we focus on academic excellence but on having fun and being involved. There are over 50 clubs and sport teams at the highschool which all meet on a regular basis. The sport teams are competitive yet friendly.
Each student who joins a team has improved feelings of belonging and because of accountability and friendships, academic work has improved here at the school dramatically. Students are required to have a 2.0 GPA no more than one F to participate in extracurricular.
There have been numerous students who have been able to compete in competitive sports at Canyon View and have voiced their satisfaction with their teams and the friendships they have created. But you don’t have to be on a sports team to be involved. CVHS has a variety of clubs and groups which meet regularly.
CVHS has a team of club presidents who are the most hardworking and caring individuals around. They take their jobs seriously and are able to reach out to many of the students here.Emily Templin, Debate Team Captain, said, “ In debate, elections are held so that the team leaders are the most qualified individuals possible.”
On February 6, 2024 the sophomores of Canyon View were able to participate in a club signup day. Each Club was present with a booth where students were then able to signup for a desired club or organization.
From Horseshoes to Debate, CVHS provides many fun opportunities for students to get involved and to feel like they have a place to belong.
Having a group of friends during this transitive moment in a teens life is beneficial. And Canyon View High School does an amazing job of getting their student body involved in leadership, service, and friendship.
