The Canyon View Boys Basketball team lost in a back and forth thriller game against 11th seat Union High. “The outcome was obviously really disappointing, Union just stepped up and played well”. Said Coach Cord Johnson. The cougars led 10-9 at the end of the 1st quarter and held onto their lead coming in with 23-19 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter the Falcons closed the gap and tied it 35-35. Fourth quarter was back and forth but with the score being 46-51, the falcons felt the defeat sinking in. Senior Jace Farrow scored the layup making the score 49-51 with little time left.

With a quick timeout, the Falcons had one play, and one chance. The ball was passed swiftly around the key, in the hands of Farrow he put the ball up at the three point line. As the buzzer went off the ball swished through the net. The falcons crowd roared in triumph.

The score was 51-51 at the end of 4th quarter, sending the falcons into overtime. With what would be the Falcons last game of the season coming in at a close 58-60. “There were people who stepped up and played well”. Stated Coach Cord.

Senior Jace Farrow had one of his best games coming in with 27 points and a buzzer beater three pointer. Followed by Junior Felps Sanders with 17 points on the board. The CVHS boys basketball team went 14-9. At home court they went 9-3, and away they went 5-5. “Overall it was a really good season, we had a lot of fun. It was just disappointing to see it end because we wanted to go farther and we worked so hard for it,” Added Johnson.
