With the year coming to an end, our school has selected the sterling scholars to represent our school. And with this, the fight begins against the other schools to make there mark on society and the schools history.
Sterling scholars are chosen based on academics, experiences, achievements and other things based on their certain categories. If you’re looking to become a sterling scholar your senior year, try to focus on your academics. This is one of the biggest factors in deciding whether or not you will get chosen.
With sterling scholars you will be put in interviews to review your achievements and why you think you would be the best candidate out of the other competitors from other schools.
When talking to some previous and current sterling scholars it seems there is a lot of time and effort put into making there portfolio and organizing anything that could be useful to them during the interview process. Some might be studying monologues while some might be trying to find previous awards that might help them further their already impressive portfolio. It all depends on what sterling scholar you are. And depending on that will decided what you need to prep for. Some of the categories could include Generals, foreign language, or science.
When asking Lexi Jones what is the hardest thing about being the generals sterling scholar she said “The hardest part is honestly putting together your portfolio” which is reasonable to say the least.
We can only wish the best to our finest falcons when it comes to the next part of the competition that is going to happen in the future. And hopefully, we can see them succeed!
