The CVHS Boys Swim Team placed second and the Girls team placed third at State Competition on February 16th and 17th at Brigham Young University .Eight athletes set new school records, including 200 Free Girls Relay, T. Rigtrup, G.Taylor, A.Lovell, S.Grimshaw; 400 Free Boys Relay, S.Cannon, E.Cannon, N. Bittmenn, K.Morgan; Male Open 100 Fly, Kurt Morgan; Male Open 200 Free,Kurt Morgan.

Senior Swim Team Captain Nick Bittmenn said, "My favorite thing is all of the friends that I have made. I didn't really know anyone else going in, and now they are my best friends."

Something special about the State Swim every year is that there is a program, Unified Athletes, where swimmers with disabilities can swim and earn state medals. The unified Swimmers swim a full 50 yards and the crowd is always so loud. It's so amazing seeing hundreds of people cheering all for the same purpose of lifting others up.

Swim team has done amazing things this year, we can’t wait to see what happens next year. The Canyon View High Swim Coaches are Kirt Brown, Melanie Alger, Richard Edwards, and Aimee Despain.
