Callbacks for the CVHS Madrigals were held on Tuesday, January 24th from 3:00 to 5:00. The callback list was lengthy and included 40 total students. Mr. Byers expressed multiple times that this was going to be a difficult choice.

The results were posted on Thursday, January 26th. Mr. Byers was able to select 33 total singers to make up the 2023 CVHS Madrigals—19 of which were new additions.

Sopranos: MicKinely Bagley, Eliza Meyers, Hailey Rowley, Addison Rushton, Kallie Wood, and Kallie Yardley.Altos: Sarah Allred, Stori Collins, Rosalie Jeffs, Jaquelle Morris, Adilaide Ohms, and Alivia Winzenried. Tenors: Randall Dexter, Perry Egan and River Hicken.Basses: Chandler Crawford, Kurt Morgan, Blake Reiser, and Dylan Templin.

14 singers from this year’s Madrigals will be joining the choir once again: McKissack Collins, Ethan Green, Aliyah Hathaway, Avery Huff, Kayleece Ivy, Olivia Manning, Gavin McLelland, Coulson Ohms, Ammon Pederson, Myles Ridgel, Emily Templin, Michelle Valenzuela, Michael Williams, and Jadeyn Whittaker.

Mason Ames, a graduating tenor, expresses “There is a need for people to experiment with singing because choir and singing, I feel, is dwindling. And I think it’s a very fun experience.”

“Madrigals is an amazing opportunity to have fun and use your creativity to create something magical,” says Brenna Haley, a graduating alto.

The new singers have a great deal to look forward to. Being on the Madrigals is an excellent opportunity for those that have a passion for singing, and Mr. Byers encourages everyone to audition for his choirs in coming years.
