As winter break approaches, students and staff have had the opportunity to reflect on past Christmas celebrations and prepare future observations in various ways.
Canyon View recently held their annual Christmas Concert featuring band, orchestra, and choirs of all ages. This celebration symbolized the union of Canyon View students during the holiday season. Mr. Jordan, band and orchestra teacher, explained to students that they were stakeholders in a long lasting tradition. Their participation in the jubilee surely had an impact on Canyon View’s history. Students played a large range of music; varying from Christmas on Broadway: a jolly jazz piece that featured all musical groups in a booming musical number, to Infant Holy, Infant Lowly: an enchanting lullaby that whisked the audience away into the sands of Jerusalem. In the students’ final number, audience members were invited to lift their voices and join in singing classical Christmas carols. The impact of the full participation of the large group at the concert was awe inspiring.
Canyon View Student Government is busying themselves in a jolly frenzy to prepare for our annual Christmas Assembly, where various Canyon View students will have their Christmas wishes granted. Student Government members drew wishes anonymously and we are thrilled to share that our assembly this year is going to be one to remember!
Basketball is readying themselves for the backyard battle that will occur next week, when Canyon View fights Cedar in the Blackout Bash. This event draws out many local fans from both North and South ends of town, and always proves to be an exciting night. We are anticipating a good brawl between both teams this year, and are looking forward to hosting at CV High.
