Canyon View’s student body is buzzing with a revitalized energy that shows us just how much potential the class of 2022 has. The Student Body officers are leading their fellow class-men into the new school year with vision.
Student Government announced this year’s theme for Canyon View’s staff, faculty, and students: “Black, Silver, Teal, Unifly!”Deirdre Barton, Student Body President, explains that Student Council’s “overall goal for this year is 100% to unify our school. In every aspect; sports, classes, clubs, activities -- you name it, we want to make everything the school does feel like a family is doing it.”

Recently, Canyon View High School celebrated its 20th Homecoming. The week was filled with several after-school activities including a massive slip n’ slide, game night, parade, and dance just to name a few.
The alumni classes of 2016 and 2001 were honored in a school-wide assembly. In addition, the students at Canyon View also commemorated the 20th anniversary of 9/11 at the assembly by honoring our country’s fallen soldiers and citizens. The student body also recognized community member, Darren Duncan, for his tour of duty in Iraq along with his countless service to our community and the local American Legion.
On September 25, 2021, members of CV’s Student Government combined suds and service and washed cars for the community at Sparkle’s Car Wash and raised funds through donations for CV’s Annual Christmas project. This year these funds, combined with a donation from the Larry H. Miller Foundation and Quarters for Christmas, will greatly benefit members of Canyon View’s Student Body particularly those affected by the recent flooding.
CV’s athlete of the week is Brooklyn Winters! She is a girls varsity soccer player. This four-year returner has made a huge impact on her teammates, and a lasting impression on the student body. Her good sportsmanship not only shines on the field, but is ever so apparent in the classroom. She has an infectious smile, and has the ability to make anyone in her vicinity smile and laugh.
Hailey Rowley has been deemed this week’s artist of the week! She is a fluid dancer and dowses her moves with emotion. Hailey is said to be an amazing big sister. Students here at CV can attest to her sweet spirit; she is very friendly, and you can rely on her for a smile anytime!
The student body at Canyon View High School is thrilled to be in the classroom, and on the field and court again. We extend an invitation to our community to be involved with our incredible school because we promise 21-22 will be an unforgettable year!
