Hello Iron County! The Nest is thrilled to share with you the exciting week that we’ve had. Thank you to our CV student council, especially our Service Rep, Katelyn Pace, and artisan Brynlee Clark, for putting on another successful dance for the student body. As couples entered the school Saturday night, they were greeted by our very own Mr. Dave Jordan. It was exciting to see both he and his wife outside of a formal classroom setting. Incidentally, Mr. Jordan was recently named USHSAA 2021 Music Educator of the Year.
Chaperones give students the opportunity to get to know their teachers outside of a classroom setting; and we are happy to report that their warm smiles inspire the student body not only in the classroom, but during their free-time as well. Other chaperones included Amy Rigby, Trent Reinholtz, and Emalee Smith.
We thank our teachers from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to put on this event. The dance was full of energy and buzzed with the rhythm of a good time. Music filled all corners of the commons along with laughter and lots of conversation. Wonderful events like this help to unify the student body. Not only did this fun-filled dance provide students with an uplifting experience and opportunity to connect with their peers, but an opportunity to serve the community.
Funds collected from this event will go towards providing underprivileged families in the CVHS community with Christmas. We are thrilled to be able to help families in need in our wonderful little Cedar City, Utah.
CV wrestling is off to a strong start. They claimed victory against Dixie on Tuesday. With a new coaching staff, the boys are no doubt showing up! They have come to compete, and their supporters are electrified by the team’s efforts. The duel was thrilling. Cheerleaders surrounded the mats and chanted their hearts out. Friends and family gathered as the matches ensued and their cheers echoed through the gym. We can't wait to see where our wrestlers go this season!
